500 Joint Personnel Clean Areas Outside Monas

Some 500 joint personnel from Central Jakarta PPSU, Bina Marga, Water Resources (SDA), Satpol PP, Parks and Forestry, and Environment Sub-agency, Friday (8/9), held a cleanup action in the outer ring area of ​​the Monas area.

This is also in order to maintain environmental cleanliness

This targets Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur, Medan Merdeka Barat, Medan Merdeka Utara, and Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan.

Central Jakarta Mayor, Dhany Sukma said the cleanup action aims to welcome the Independence Day's 79th anniversary. It is the second time it has been held in Monas area. Previously, it was held last Sunday (8/4).

"This is also in order to maintain environmental cleanliness ahead of the Independence Day celebrations," he expressed.

Personnel cleaned the outer ring area because the inner area has been handled by officers from the Monas Area Management Unit (UPK).

"We also get support from the Delman driver community who usually operate in Monas area," he explained.

Central Jakarta Environment Sub-agency Head, Slamet Riyadi added it was focused on sidewalks, greenways, road shoulders, bus stops, and tree pruning.

the action involved one unit of ranger cross car, panther, taiyo truck, and one street sweeper car.

"We send 30 personnel to focus on transporting garbage. We have collected seven meters cubic meters of garbage," he uttered.

The same action would also be held on Friday next week, the day before the Independence Day celebrations.
